A Blessing From God

My husband and I are expecting our first child on July 23rd. At 5 months, we decided to find out the sex and “It’s a BOY!!!” At first Rick wanted it to be a surprise, but I wanted to know. We have already chosen the name, Jeremiah. He is so precious even though we have never met him. I enjoy feeling and watching him kick. Children are such a gift from God.

I just finished reading the book called, Gianna. It is the true story of a child that was aborted in the 70’s, but the saline solution failed and the mother delivered the child the next day. The mother was about 7 months at the time. Right now I am 7 and 1/2 months pregnant and I can feel and see the life within me!

The Five Love Languages

When Rick and I were first courting we read the book The Five Love Languages by Dr Gary Chapman. I think it’s a excellent book, for anyone; single, married, with or without children. In his book, Gary talks about how we all have languages in which we give and receive love. The five languages are: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts or Service, and Physical Touch.  Check out their website http://www.fivelovelanguages.com.

The Titus 2 Woman

“Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.” Titus 2:3-5

Sweet Tooth

Cookies

I love to bake.  Maybe it’s because I have a sweet tooth or a mouth full of them.  I could bake all day.  My husband loves cookies, chocolate chip to be exact.  He will sit down with a glass of milk and eat a whole bunch at once.  Baking can get you into trouble especially if you like what you are making.  Pounds just waiting to happen.  I’ll post some of my favorites from time to time.  Not my own recipes, but ones I enjoy.

Tip: When baking chocolate chip cookies, bake for the shorter amount of time suggested in the recipe and then let them cool on the cookie sheet, for a crunchy, yet still soft cookie.
